Life here at Scoil Éanna is as hectic as ever and there is lots of activity on-going as we prepare for the Christmas rush!
The AGM of the Parents’ Association was held recently and while there were very few changes to personnel, we would like to acknowledge the dedication and commitment of all involved. We also want to place on record our appreciation for the unstinting service that the PA give to the school and we are very fortunate to have such generous back-up in monetary terms but more significantly in terms of the dedicated support offered for every event that is run in school. The children and their whole school experiences are richer as a consequence of this service. The next meeting will take place on Monday 5th December at 8p.m. so please make an effort to attend.
Preparations are underway for the various events that will take place in the run up to Christmas. “The Three Tenors” gave a recital in St. Patrick’s Church on Sunday last. The choir from Scoil Éanna performed at this event and received resounding applause for their beautiful singing!
The choir has also been invited to entertain all those attending the Ballybay Enterprise Town event, sponsored by Bank of Ireland, which will take place in the Recreation Centre on Saturday 3rd December. The opening ceremony will take place at 2.00p.m. and the choir will sing at approximately 2.30p.m.
Our Christmas show will take place on Tuesday 13th December at 1p.m. and again at 7p.m. There is great excitement and anticipation as we prepare for this and staff and children are working extra hard to put the finishing touches to the performances, the set and the costumes. We hope you will all get the chance to see one of the performances on the day and family members are very welcome to attend.
We are going to hold a “Christmas Jumper Day” in aid of Temple Street hospital on Friday 16th December. One of our Junior Infants had surgery there recently and, although she is back at school, she is still under the care of doctors at the hospital. We thought this would be a great way to say thank you to them for all the amazing work they do for sick children from all over the country!
Finally, a reminder that Confirmation will take place on Sunday 07/05/2017 at 3p.m. in St. Patrick’s and First Communion on Saturday 27/05/2017 at 11a.m.
